REPORTS TO: Construction Supervisor

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

Field position responsible for construction and reclamation of uranium mining activities. Specifically an operator of backhoe/excavator equipment to support the implementation and reclamation of well-fields for the purpose of uranium extraction and other duties and responsibilities as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Safe operation of excavator/backhoe/forklift
  • Handling and/or moving material
  • Knowledge of excavator/backhoe safe loading requirements and materials handling
  • Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, etc.
  • Provide all necessary maintenance of equipment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities however this person may be required to supervise some personnel as situations arise.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to deal with vendors in the specification and ordering of basic construction materials.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to develop materials lists from basic construction drawings and P&ID’s. Ability to relate inventory to current project needs and develop construction materials lists.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

A valid class “A” driver’s license is required.
